Crosstalk has been fabulous in providing AV and technical services for our Ultra-Trail Australia event, the largest trail running event in the Southern Hemisphere. With around 6,000 runners and another 10,000 supporters, the Event Hub is a swarm of activity. Crosstalk provides excellent AV coverage for all these people to see and hear the important race briefing as well as AV and general set up supervision throughout the whole 2-day expo and race check-in. Not only are Steve and his team extremely competent, they are willing to go the extra mile, catering for last minute adjustments and requirements and all the while remaining friendly and kind – a perfect combination!
Crosstalk’s founder, Steve Williams, began technical ministry whilst still in High School. This ad-hoc ministry grew until the late 1980’s when Crosstalk Technical Services was set up to offer specialist production, technical advice and training services to churches, schools and Christian organisations predominantly in Sydney and the surrounding suburbs.
Whilst working as a teacher, Steve spent many holidays and weekends doing tech related ministry as well as undertaking a number of school-based productions. It was during the late 1990’s that it became obvious there was a clear need for a ministry-based approach to the provision of technical services in a way where training, skill-sharing and partnership underpinned the ministry.
Identifying a significant need for production and event services offered specifically within a ministry framework, Steve left his school teaching career to focus entirely on Crosstalk Technical Services from 2004. Since then, Steve and a more than 20-strong team of like-minded “techies” have built Crosstalk into a reputable provider, trusted by high profile schools, churches and conference organisers to deliver professional events, training and technical support with honesty and integrity.
Who We Work With
Crosstalk Technical Services exists to serve churches, Christian conference and event organisers, Bible Colleges, mission organisations, schools, the not-for-profit sector and general organisations who share our mission and values. From an individual church seeking technical advice on how to better communicate with their congregation right through to large-scale school productions, live events and conferences, we have the skills, experience and equipment to provide the right solution for each organisation’s needs. Having worked on hundreds of major events attracting many thousands of participants, we have the expertise to accurately scope a wide variety of functions and plan the most efficient deployment of necessary equipment.
Specialising in serving within a ministry framework, Crosstalk Technical Services is trusted and relied upon by a diverse range of organisations to seamlessly manage their events whilst upholding and promoting their own Christian values. Some of our clients include Katoomba Christian Convention, Sydney Missionary and Bible College, Morling College, Reachout Missions Conference, Shire Christian School, Danebank – An Anglican School for Girls, Christian Venues Association and Logosdor. Whilst most of our work is undertaken in Sydney and surrounds, we enjoy a good road trip so are happy to consider interstate events as required.
Crosstalk Technical Services is made up of a skilled team of over 20 technicians, all having had extensive experience in various aspects of event lighting, sound, video and production management. Having been involved in sound, lighting and event management for over 40 years, Steve manages our day-to-day operations and also has a large network of trusted partners who are brought on board to help execute larger events or those with particularly tight timeframes.
Fully insured, Crosstalk Technical Services’ team members are “Working with Children” checked and key production personnel are “White Card” trained. Various other training accreditations held by our staff include operating scissor-lift, boom-lift, man-lift and forklift machinery, as well as testing and tagging accreditation.
